The Vallee de Croix Chorus is proud to announce that Scott Perau has accepted a contract as Interim Director of the chorus. Scott was gracious enough to step in and direct the chorus through our joint Christmas shows with the Croix Chordsmen on December 6, 2014. Because rehearsals were (and are) going well, we offered Scott the position of Interim Director, and he accepted.

Scott is the music teacher in the Somerset, WI school district and has made great strides in their music program. One of Scott's favorite genres of music is a cappella, and he is very active in the Barbershop Harmony Society. He has performed and competed with many barbershop quartets and choruses, including a youth chorus that he founded and directed in college called "Wissota Voices." He has been a guest clinician for multiple Youth in Harmony day camps in Minnesota and Wisconsin, and formerly directed the "North Star Chorus," based out of St. Paul, MN. Scott also was the bass section leader and a warm-up leader of the International Silver Medalist "Great Northern Union Chorus" for nearly five years.

In addition to teaching at Somerset, Scott is the Music Director of First Congregational United Church of Christ in River Falls, WI where he directs the Chancel Choir, Handbell Choir, and Worship Ensemble. He is also an adjudicator for the Wisconsin School Music Association. In his free time, Scott enjoys fishing, running, sports (Go Gophers!), and spending time with his wife Tricia and children Silas and Hazel.
